Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment
- Location: Durham, NC 27704 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse
- Healthcare Setting: On-Site, Medical-Surgical Unit
- Start Date: December 22, 2025
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Med/Surg setting (2 years preferred)
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care following established healthcare protocols and standards
- Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
- Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation programs
- Initiate and coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to all healthcare safety policies and procedures
- Provide calm direction and support to ancillary staff, patients, and families
- Identify opportunities for professional growth and actively pursue continuing education in nursing
