Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment
• Location: Durham, NC 27704 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse
• Healthcare Setting: On-Site, Medical-Surgical Unit
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Med/Surg setting (2 years preferred)
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care following established healthcare protocols and standards
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation programs
• Initiate and coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to all healthcare safety policies and procedures
• Provide calm direction and support to ancillary staff, patients, and families
• Identify opportunities for professional growth and actively pursue continuing education in nursing
