PCU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 26, 2026 – End: April 27, 2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1810 - $1940
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Weekdays, occasional weekends, rotating holidays
• Unit: 10 Rhodes Transplant (Abdominal Transplant Unit)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or Ohio state license required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficient in Epic EMR charting system
• Skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, central/PICC line management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the PCU, specializing in abdominal transplant cases (kidney, liver, pancreas)
• Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses: transplant recovery, infections, acute kidney injury (AKI), uncontrolled diabetes, hepatology, GI bleeds
• Perform and manage procedures including kidney biopsy recovery and paracentesis
• Utilize and monitor specialized equipment: telemetry, bladder scanners, Dopplers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Float to other nursing units of similar or lower acuity as needed
• Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage
