Unit Information

• Unit Name: CSSU
• Number of Beds: 15 beds
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Unit Staffing: 1-2 LNA support
• Type of Equipment: GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipap and Hiflo, Baxter IV Pumps, Hemospheres
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling Requirements:

  • 12 shifts per month (3 shifts a week)
  • 4 weekend shifts per month
• Floating Policy: Travelers float first on a rotation basis
• Patient Experience Requirements: MyCare board updates during bedside shift report; bedside shift report at each change of shift

• Certifications:

  • Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Level 2 Trauma Center

Hiring Profile

Required Skills

• Strong telemetry skills
• Experience titrating vasoactive medications (e.g., levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine)
• Chest Tube management

Preferred Skills

• Arterial Lines
• Flo-Tracs
• Temporary Pacing

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Temporary Pacing
• Pre-op prep for cardiovascular surgery
• Chest-tube removal, arterial line removal

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS

Dress Code

• Uniform: Scrubs (color does not matter)

Additional Information

• Specialties in Cardiovascular and Vascular surgery
