PCU RN Job Details

• Location: Lima, Ohio (45801) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown); float to ICU as needed
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (36 hours/week)
• Open Positions: 2 PCU RN jobs available
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (required)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a hospital setting (required)
• Experience with ICU-level patients, including ventilators and tracheostomies (required)
• Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Exam (required; study guide provided)
• Preferred: Experience with central lines, medi ports, PICCs, midlines, foleys, nephrostomy tubes, pleurix catheters, chest tubes, NG tubes, PEG tubes, J tubes, and flexiseal
• Preferred: Pre/Post Cath Lab and CABG patient care experience
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Preferred: EPIC EHR training, Critical Care Course, CCRN or PCCN certification
• Navy blue scrubs required

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with hospital policies
• Coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Float to ICU as needed and manage low acuity ICU patients under supervision
• Monitor and care for patients with multi-system organ failure and trauma
• Utilize advanced respiratory modalities including tracheostomies, ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high flow oxygen
• Manage and monitor various lines, drains, and medical devices
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Educate and support patients and their families throughout the care process
• Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and medical emergencies
