Radiology X-Ray Technologist Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14642
• Healthcare Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center
• Employment Type: Travel Contract
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/29/2025 – End: 3/28/2026)
• Hours per Week: 36-40 hours
• Shifts per Week: 5
• Shift: 8-hour shifts, days; includes weekends, on-call, callbacks, and holidays as needed
• On-Call Requirement: Must be able to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2260

Radiology X-Ray Technologist Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• Active New York State Radiologic Technologist license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent X-Ray Technologist experience
• Recent experience (within the past 8 months) operating c-arm/o-arm equipment
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center preferred
• Ability to lift/move patients and stand for extended periods
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and a collaborative team player

Key Responsibilities for X-Ray Technologist

• Verify patient identity and review physician orders prior to radiology procedures
• Operate x-ray equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images of bones, tissues, and organs
• Clearly explain radiology procedures to patients and address their questions
• Position and assist patients, including those with limited mobility, for optimal imaging
• Ensure safe handling of radiologic equipment and minimize patient exposure
• Monitor patient status and deliver age-appropriate clinical care
• Produce accurate diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
• Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly
• Utilize electronic health records and follow dual patient identifier protocols
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and ensure timely image transfer to PACS
