Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Watertown, NY 13601 (New York healthcare job)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour days (Monday–Friday)
• Hours per Week: 40 guaranteed
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• On Call: Required (30-minute response time)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2350–$2520

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
• ACLS certification preferred
• At least 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
• Candidates without recent OR experience must complete and pass the Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative nursing care to surgical patients
• Assess and address patient needs, including clinical, educational, and emotional aspects
• Identify and resolve safety issues for patients and staff, including safe patient movement
• Operate clinical equipment and maintain aseptic technique in the operating room
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills in high-pressure situations
• Prioritize, delegate, and assume charge nurse duties as needed
• Maintain excellent communication and collaboration with the surgical healthcare team
