Radiology Technician - Massachusetts (Newton)
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology Technician

Job Description
- Determine appropriate radiographic techniques based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality images for radiologists.
- Provide advanced clinical patient care as needed.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, including transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning patients.
- Explain procedures to patients considering their physical and emotional needs.
- Record digital images for radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain pertinent records.
- Provide radiation protection following prescribed safety standards.
- May assist Radiology Technologist students and new staff with radiologic exams, sterile technique, and stocking supplies.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree in Diagnostic Imaging required.
- Experience cannot substitute for degree.
Licenses & Certifications
- State Radiologic Technologist License (required).
- Registered Technologist (ARRT-R) certification (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Experience
- Radiology Technician experience with multiple patient populations preferred.
- Required years of experience: 3 years (higher end of 2-3 years preferred).
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit requirement for prior travel experience.
Required Credentials & Compliance (Onboarding Requirements)
- Radiologic Technologist license and ARRT certification verification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions.
- TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender check.
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience.
- Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above).
- Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required.
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test required.
- Education verification through background check.
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days of start and annually.
Additional Notes
- MA Conditional Licenses are not accepted.
- No religious exemptions for fit testing or influenza vaccine.
- Flu-mist administered by pharmacy/provider accepted; self-administered flu mist not accepted.
- Positive TB skin test requires negative chest x-ray documentation.
- All credentialing and compliance documents must be current and updated as required.
