- Job Title: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) – Behavioral Health Unit
- Location: Michigan City, Indiana 46360
- Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit (BHU)
- Unit Size: 14 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:10 (adult psychiatric patients)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible start times (7, 8, or 9 a.m.)
- Shifts per Week: 5 shifts per week
- Shift Length: 8-hour days
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,708 - $1,898
- Employment Type: Travel Social Worker Contract (13 weeks)

Social Worker Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (LMSW required)
- Active Indiana Social Work license
- BLS certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric social work
- Expertise in discharge planning, patient/family communication, and therapeutic group facilitation
- De-escalation training (CPI or equivalent; can be completed on-site)
- Strong documentation skills; Epic EMR experience preferred
- Professional, compassionate, and collaborative approach to clinical support
- Business casual attire required (no open-toe shoes or inappropriate casual clothes)
Social Worker Responsibilities
- Deliver social work services to adult psychiatric patients with acute depression, psychosis, or mania
- Lead and facilitate therapeutic groups, fostering a positive therapeutic environment
- Coordinate and implement discharge planning with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR
- Participate in de-escalation and crisis intervention as needed
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality
