• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department Observation Unit
• Nursing Shift: 3x12-Hour Days (07:00 - 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Age Groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Staffing Ratio: 1:4

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in ER, ER observation/holding, or MS/tele nursing jobs
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Experience with Epic EMR charting system preferred
• Ability to manage a 1:4 patient ratio in a clinical support role
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department Observation Unit
• Monitor and manage telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Provide PCU/Stepdown level care, including IV insulin and heparin protocols
• Manage renal failure, cardiac and vasoactive drips (including titration), and blood product administration
• Perform tracheostomy management, wound care, and wound vac therapy
• Utilize rapid response teams and provide non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen)
• Document patient care using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more
