Med/Surg LPN Job Details

• Location: Henrico, VA 23229 (Richmond area)
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown, Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00-19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Nursing Model: Team nursing – 1 RN + 1 LPN for 8 patients, supported by Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

LPN Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in Virginia or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with cardiac monitoring
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg or stepdown nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with MEDITECH EMR system is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

LPN Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown Unit

• Deliver direct patient care in collaboration with Registered Nurses (RNs) for up to 8 cardiac stepdown patients
• Administer medications and perform wound care procedures
• Support patient care activities, excluding assessments, discharge documentation, restraints, and blood administration setup
• Work closely with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to monitor vital signs and assist with daily patient needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the MEDITECH EMR system
• Ensure patient safety and uphold high standards of quality care
