Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Arkansas or compact state
• BLS Certification (required before first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg clinical experience (2 years preferred)
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Experience in travel nursing or healthcare jobs preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and create individualized patient care plans
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards
• Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and patient rehabilitation programs
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
• Promote patient and employee safety by following safety protocols and reporting hazards
• Provide direction and training to ancillary staff, delegating tasks appropriately
• Maintain effective communication with physicians, charge nurses, and healthcare team members
• Engage in professional development and contribute to a positive healthcare team environment
