ER RN Job Details – New York Healthcare Opportunity

• Location: West Islip, NY 11795 (Long Island nursing jobs)
• Facility: 437-bed teaching hospital, Level II Trauma Center
• Contract Type: Travel nursing contract
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: Night shifts, 4x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) preferred; 3x12-hour shifts considered
• Hours per Week: 36
• Openings: 3 ER RN positions
• Patient Age Groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Uniform: Scrubs (all white, all navy, or a combination)

Emergency Room RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency room nursing experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center
• Active New York State Registered Nurse license (NY RN license required)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required; TNCC preferred
• Proficient with Epic charting system
• Community hospital nursing experience required
• Charge RN experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two supervisory clinical references required at submission
• Prior travel nursing assignment preferred, but not required
• Ability to begin compliance process promptly (monthly orientation)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations
• Perform triage, assessment, and management of acute and critical patients in the ER
• Care for ventilated patients and manage central lines
• Administer IV vasopressors and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and more
• Utilize Epic for accurate charting and documentation
• Participate in monthly orientation and required training modules
