PCU Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Location: Burlington, Massachusetts (01805) – Greater Boston area
  • Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
  • Unit: Nursing Float Pool with PCU focus
  • Start Date: January 19, 2026
  • End Date: April 18, 2026
  • Duration: 13-week contract
  • Hours per Week: 36 (72 hours biweekly guaranteed)
  • Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (7a-7:30p, 7p-7:30a), rotating every 4 weeks between days and nights
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (days: Sat/Sun; nights: Fri/Sat/Sun)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Massachusetts nursing license preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, progressive care, or acute care nursing experience
  • BLS (AHA) certification required
  • ACLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Ability to titrate pressors and perform advanced cardiac monitoring
  • Level 1 trauma experience preferred; required if no prior travel nurse experience
  • Must be separated from BILH for at least 6 months if previously employed

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to PCU patients in a float pool environment
  • Float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other clinical boarding units as needed
  • Manage patient ratios between 1:3-5
  • Titrate pressors and provide advanced cardiac monitoring
  • Document patient care and assessments accurately in Epic EMR
  • Participate in day one pass/fail testing and ongoing competency assessments
  • Adapt to rotating shifts and flexible floating assignments (floating may occur in 4-hour blocks)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
