Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Cardiac ICU (CVICU)
  • Start Date: January 16, 2026
  • End Date: April 17, 2026
  • Duration: 13-week contract
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Guaranteed Hours: Yes
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2 (days and nights)
  • Charting System: Epic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or compact state (pending license accepted)
  • Minimum 3 years of Cardiac ICU nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of Level I Trauma Center experience
  • Proficient in Swan-Ganz monitoring
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
  • Experience with Epic electronic charting
  • Previous charge nurse experience
  • Ability to float to ICU and PCU units as needed
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • One professional reference required

CVICU RN Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing care to adult patients in a high-acuity CVICU setting
  • Manage complex cardiac cases: post-CABG, valve repairs/replacements, aneurysm repairs, heart/kidney transplants, VAD implantation
  • Monitor and manage advanced cardiac devices: ECMO, IABP, Impella, Centrimag, VAD
  • Perform and interpret Swan-Ganz and arterial line monitoring
  • Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services)
  • Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy and ECMO cannulation
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic
  • Follow infection prevention and isolation protocols
  • Float to ICU and PCU units as required
