Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Unit: 9 West Doan Hall, Surgical with Burn (PCU)
• Contract Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: February 9, 2026
• End Date: May 11, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 22 beds (16 rooms), average daily census of 20
• Weekend Coverage: Every other or every third weekend required
• Floating: May be required to float within the organization

PCU Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience with adult/geriatric patients
• Experience in a teaching hospital preferred
• Previous charge RN experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC documentation and Pyxis medication systems preferred
• Ability to provide two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality clinical care to adult and geriatric patients recovering from burns, plastic/reconstructive surgeries, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries
• Perform specialized procedures including burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
• Administer and monitor medications, manage central and peripheral lines, and provide wound care
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, and insulin drips
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV/pharmacy, respiratory, PT, social work, and rapid response
• Utilize EPIC for clinical documentation and Pyxis for medication management
• Participate in rapid response/code teams as needed
• Float to other nursing units within the organization as required
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures
