Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Chicago, Illinois (60612) – Illinois healthcare jobs
- Unit: General Medicine/Telemetry (7E)
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
- Start Date: January 20, 2026
- End Date: April 21, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours: 36 hours/week guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends/month)
- Floating: Mandatory float within facility and up to 50 miles
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (required for Chicago nursing jobs)
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS certification
- ACLS certification preferred
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (flu vaccine: medical/religious exemptions only)
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Local candidates accepted (must live within 75 miles of facility)
- Ability to meet compliance deadlines and respond promptly
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in the Medical/Surgical unit
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
- Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
- Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airway support
- Care for peripheral IV lines and tracheostomies
- Respond to rapid response and code team activations
- Float to other units as needed to support facility operations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
