Travel Nurse Job Details

Location: Chicago, Illinois (60612) – Illinois healthcare jobs
Unit: General Medicine/Telemetry (7E)
Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
Start Date: January 20, 2026
End Date: April 21, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours: 36 hours/week guaranteed
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends/month)
Floating: Mandatory float within facility and up to 50 miles
Charting System: Cerner
Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license (required for Chicago nursing jobs)
Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
NIHSS certification
ACLS certification preferred
COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (flu vaccine: medical/religious exemptions only)
Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
Local candidates accepted (must live within 75 miles of facility)
Ability to meet compliance deadlines and respond promptly

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in the Medical/Surgical unit
Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airway support
Care for peripheral IV lines and tracheostomies
Respond to rapid response and code team activations
Float to other units as needed to support facility operations
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
