Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87106 (New Mexico nursing jobs)
• Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Acute Care
• Contract Type: Travel nursing contract
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: February 23, 2026
• End Date: May 25, 2026
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Open Positions: 3
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 (possible 1:6)
• Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours per week (facility may call off up to 3 times during assignment)

RN Qualifications & Requirements

• Active NM RN license (New Mexico Registered Nurse license; pending accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Ability to float to PCU, ED, and lower acuity units within skillset
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Personal transportation required
• Proficient in IV starts and telemetry
• First-time travel nurses welcome

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Med/Surg Tele unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using Phillips cardiac monitors
• Start and maintain IVs, manage dysrhythmias, and perform telemetry duties
• Float to PCU, ED, and other med/surg-like floors as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and more
• Care for patients with heart failure, stroke, trauma, renal conditions, oncology, and infectious diseases
• Document patient care using Cerner charting system
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
