Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102 (New Mexico nursing jobs)
• Unit: Medical-Surgical Unit (32 beds)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (18:30 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• Float Requirement: Yes, to similar medical-surgical units
• Documentation System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Any (no hospital logo required)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active NM or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a U.S. healthcare setting
• BLS certification required; CPI certification preferred
• Experience managing patient ratios of 1:6
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Local travelers (within 50 miles) not accepted

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 32-bed medical-surgical unit
• Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral IV lines, and perform wound care
• Deliver pre/post hemodialysis management and care for renal failure patients
• Manage chest tubes, colostomies, feeding tubes, and surgical drains
• Implement isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management
• Start and maintain IVs; administer medications including insulin and heparin
• Float to similar Med/Surg units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health record system
