Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Richmond, VA 23219
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
- Start Date: January 19, 2026
- End Date: April 20, 2026
- Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 07:00-19:00, Night: 19:00-07:00), 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Unit: 14-bed Cardiac Surgery ICU
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or CSICU experience in a Level I Trauma Center or academic hospital
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Experience with invasive hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, IABP, ECMO, and post-op cardio-thoracic surgery recovery
- Strong clinical skills in conscious sedation, pulmonary artery lines, telemetry, and ventilator management
- BSN preferred
- 2 professional references required
CVICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiac surgery patients, including CABGs, valve repairs/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, artificial hearts, and transplants
- Monitor and manage advanced circulatory assist devices (Heartmate II/III LVAD, CentriMag RVAD/LVAD, Heartware HVAD, ECMO, CRRT, IABP, Total Artificial Heart)
- Perform invasive hemodynamic monitoring and titrate vasoactive IV medications
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Float within scope as needed
- Participate in orientation and complete required modules during the first week
- Adhere to facility policies, including natural nail policy
