- Shifts: 3 x 12-hour day shifts/week (start times: 6am, 7am, or 8am; varies by unit needs)
- Hours per Week: 36
- On-Call: 2-3 call shifts per 6-week schedule (weekday call 8pm-6am; weekend call 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am)
- Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Unit Beds: 24
- Daily Census: 50
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Compact or Kentucky RN license (required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of PACU nursing experience, including phase 1 recovery
- At least 1 year of ICU nursing experience
- Pediatric patient care experience (not limited to pediatric PACU)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (PALS may be obtained prior to start)
- Proficiency in arterial line management, ventilated patient care, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia recognition/management, medication reconciliation, and pre/post interventional radiology procedures
- Ability to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Experience monitoring phase 1 recovery and ICU patients
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Ability to work 3-4 late stays per 6 weeks
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- References required
- Local travelers within 75 miles not accepted
PACU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-op and post-op nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures
- Monitor and recover patients in phase 1 PACU, including pediatric and ICU-level patients
- Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more
- Respond to on-call requirements and provide care during off-hours
- Float to main PACU for patient recovery as needed
- Complete onboarding and annual competency modules
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with facility protocols
