Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Baltimore, MD 21215 (Maryland healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Med/Surg Telemetry, Certified Stroke Center, Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
• Contract Length: 14 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/27/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30), 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Floating: May float to other Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed

RN Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry and Neurology nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in Maryland or Compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certifications required
• Basic EKG testing (provided by agency; must be completed prior to orientation)
• Preferred: Previous charge nurse experience, Cerner charting system proficiency, Trauma Level I/II experience
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological and medical-surgical diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response/code teams
• Administer medications, manage IVs, central lines, and perform phlebotomy
• Care for patients with stroke, epilepsy, spinal cord injuries, post-neurosurgery, and other complex conditions
• Utilize and manage specialized equipment such as EEG monitors, telemetry, bladder scanners, and wound vacs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other units within scope as needed to support hospital operations
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
