• End Date: April 27, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown or IMCU (prior travel nursing experience required)
• Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse license
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (current and required)
• Complete work history with explanation for gaps over 90 days
• Skills Checklist and Nursys/license copy required
• Ability to work 2 of 3 winter holidays
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Strong commitment to a supportive healthcare culture, especially mentoring students and new hires
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients
• Provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced intermediate care unit
• May assume charge nurse duties with appropriate training and pay differential
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, students, and new hires
• Accurately document patient care and interventions using Cerner EMR
• Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
