Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Artesia, New Mexico (88210) – New Mexico nursing jobs
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: December 21, 2025
• End Date: March 22, 2026
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Med/Surg Unit (26 beds)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7am-7pm)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: May be included in rotation
• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license – Registered Nurse
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of recent Med/Surg-Telemetry experience
• PCU/Stepdown nursing experience preferred
• Ability to titrate IV drips (insulin, amiodarone, levofed, etc.)
• Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips (Mindray cardiac monitors)
• Experience with electronic charting systems (CPSI/TruBridge - Evident preferred)
• Completion of required online training modules prior to start (up to 20 hours; 6 hours billable)
• At least 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travel nurses welcome!

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg and PCU patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Titrate and manage multiple IV drips as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including respiratory therapists and nurse aides
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Assist with patient ADLs, transfers, and monitoring vital signs
• Participate in unit orientation and complete required training modules
• Maintain flexibility with scheduling to help fill staffing gaps
• Provide compassionate care in a supportive, community-focused healthcare environment
