Texas Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Healthcare Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (Adults & Geriatrics)
• Nursing Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Allscripts or Altera charting systems preferred
• Ability to pass facility drug screen upon arrival (includes Marijuana)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must reside at least 150 miles from facility if applying as a travel nurse

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 13-bed Med/Surg unit
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5
• Perform Med/Surg nursing skills: wound care, IV management, blood product administration, chest tubes, colostomy care, and more
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Accurately document patient care using the facility's charting system
• Participate in rapid response/code teams as needed
• Educate and support patients and families
• Float and on-call coverage as required (one shift per 6-week schedule)
