Travel RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) / Oncology
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• End Date: May 18, 2026
• Duration: 16-week contract
• Shifts: Rotating Day (07:00 – 19:30) and Night (19:00 – 07:30); 3x12-hour shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adult patients
• Unit Size: 12 beds

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Ohio or compact state license required at time of submission)
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Travel RN experience required
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Oncology nursing experience preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Ability to float to MICU/SICU, Medical/Surgical, or PCU units as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references (at least one from a supervisor or manager)

SICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the SICU/Oncology unit
• Manage complex diagnoses: hemorrhagic/hypovolemic shock, sepsis, ARDS, stroke, intracranial hypertension, delirium
• Perform specialized procedures: external ventricular drain management, ICP monitoring, massive transfusion protocol, mechanical ventilation, heated high flow, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy management, CRRT, vasopressor titration
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage ventilated patients
• Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy)
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR system
• Follow infection prevention and isolation protocols
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
