Registered Nurse Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Location: Columbus, OH 43205 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) / PICU
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30), 3 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults
• Unit Size: 20 beds, average daily census of 13
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• On-Site Position

PICU RN Qualifications

• Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience in a 30+ bed unit preferred (strong PICU-only experience considered)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Proficient in ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and advanced pediatric cardiac care
• Willingness to float to NICU, PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and medical-surgical units as needed
• Two supervisory references required (one must be from a supervisor/manager)
• Must not have worked permanent for this facility within the last 2 years
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius from Columbus, OH

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac and medical needs
• Monitor and manage ventilators, arterial and central lines, chest tubes, and advanced cardiac devices (VADs, ECMO support—no circuit management required)
• Administer medications, IV vasopressors, and sedation according to protocols
• Interpret arterial blood gases, dysrhythmias, and perform hemodynamic monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other critical care and acute care units as assigned, adapting to various patient populations and acuity levels
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold infection control and isolation precautions
