Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Unit: ICU (Float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU; may float to Med-Surg units)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Duration: 13-week contract (Start: 1/20/2026 – End: 4/21/2026)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Orientation: First week on day shift (includes orientation and precepting)
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience
• Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Willingness to float to various ICU and Med-Surg units
• Ability to comply with facility RTO and floating policies

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in multiple ICU settings
• Float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, and Med-Surg units as needed
• Manage and monitor patients with complex multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Perform arterial and central line management, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
• Implement isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
