Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
- Unit: ICU (Float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU; may float to Med-Surg units)
- Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Duration: 13-week contract (Start: 1/20/2026 – End: 4/21/2026)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Orientation: First week on day shift (includes orientation and precepting)
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience
- Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Willingness to float to various ICU and Med-Surg units
- Ability to comply with facility RTO and floating policies
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in multiple ICU settings
- Float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, and Med-Surg units as needed
- Manage and monitor patients with complex multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Perform arterial and central line management, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
- Implement isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Accurately document patient care using Cerner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
