Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Position Type: Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Location: Geneva, NY 14456 (New York nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13-week contract
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 18, 2026
• Schedule: Full-time, Day/Night Rotation (36 hours/week), 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, holidays, plus 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks
• Unit: Med/Surg 3 North
• Openings: 3 Med/Surg RN positions available

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (NYS RN Licensure)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or RQI only)
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a Med/Surg hospital setting

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in a medical surgical environment
• Assess patient and family needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Provide direct patient care, monitor patient progress, and adjust care plans as needed
• Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge recovery
• Promote comfort and emotional support in a healing hospital environment
• Advocate for patient safety, rights, and well-being
• Delegate tasks to clinical support staff and ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols
• Accurately document patient care, education, and family responses
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities
• Administer medications and perform nursing interventions as required
