• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts/week)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Openings Available: 7 Med/Surg RN positions

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
• BLS Certification (required before first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
• Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience in Med/Surg or acute care
• PCU/Critical Care nursing experience preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to create individualized care plans
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to identify teaching needs and care goals
• Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and deliver direct patient care using the nursing process
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to healthcare providers for continuity and safety
• Supervise and mentor LPNs, CNAs, and new staff members
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by following hospital safety policies
• Support team building and foster a positive work environment
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
