Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Healthcare Setting: Hospital

• Start Date: February 16, 2026
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift Schedule: 3 shifts/week, 12-hour night shifts
• Employment Type: Local/Travel, On-Site
• Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend/as needed
• Estimated Travel Rate: $2308/week
• Requested Time Off (RTO): Maximum 3 days during contract

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (2 years preferred)
• Active RRT credential from NBRC
• Valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
• Ability to complete all required hospital orientation modules and in-person classes
• Availability for full orientation week and required POCT class (not during orientation week)

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the Respiratory Care process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
• Promote positive patient results in a hospital setting
• Participate in unit-based orientation and ongoing clinical education
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and complete all orientation and badge requirements on time
