• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (3 West)
• Patient Ratios: 1:6-8
• Charting System: Epic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Pediatric nursing experience (ages 6 and up) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Ability to manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6-8
• 2 professional nursing references required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics in a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway protocols
• Perform peripheral and central line care, phlebotomy, and IV management
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage feeding tubes and tracheostomies
• Utilize isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Accurately document patient care in Epic EHR
• Activate rapid response teams when necessary
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, pharmacy, radiology, social services)
• Float to other nursing units as needed
