Key Job Details – PACU RN Travel Contract

• Location: Lexington, KY 40536 (Kentucky nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Interventional Radiology PACU
• Contract Duration: 14 weeks (Start: 2/10/2026 – End: 5/19/2026)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts per week (start times: 6:00am, 7:00am, 8:00am)
• Hours per Week: 36
• On-call: 2-3 call shifts per 6-week schedule (weekday and weekend rotation)
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 24 beds, daily census of 50

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PACU nursing experience, including phase 1 recovery
• At least 1 year of ICU nurse experience required
• Experience caring for pediatric patients (not limited to pediatric PACU)
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
• Active Kentucky or compact RN license (required at submission)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (PALS may be obtained prior to start)
• Proficient in arterial line management, ventilated patient care, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia recognition/management, medication reconciliation, and stroke scale assessments
• Willingness to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• References required
• Local travelers within 75 miles not accepted

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-op and post-op care for Interventional Radiology patients in the PACU
• Monitor phase 1 recovery and provide ICU-level nursing care
• Care for a diverse patient population, including pediatric and adult patients
• Respond to scheduled call shifts with a 1-hour response time
• Float to main PACU for patient recovery as needed, ensuring continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more
• Complete onboarding and annual competency modules
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
