ICU RN Job Details

  • Setting: Resource Float – ICU/IMCU units (SICU, MICU, Miller 3, Miller 4)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a large teaching hospital
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Experience with post cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma-level 1, general surgery, and neurosurgery patients
  • EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
  • Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – NIHSS must be completed prior to start
  • CCRN certification preferred
  • Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (no public transportation)
  • All-season or snow tires required for vehicles November–April

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

  • Float between ICU/IMCU units (SICU, MICU, Miller 3, Miller 4) as needed
  • Deliver high-quality critical care to patients with cardiovascular, COPD, DKA, stroke, and sepsis conditions
  • Care for post-surgical, trauma, and neurosurgical patients
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced teaching hospital
  • Work 2 out of 4 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
  • Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions
