- Setting: Resource Float – ICU/IMCU units (SICU, MICU, Miller 3, Miller 4)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a large teaching hospital
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with post cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma-level 1, general surgery, and neurosurgery patients
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – NIHSS must be completed prior to start
- CCRN certification preferred
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (no public transportation)
- All-season or snow tires required for vehicles November–April
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Float between ICU/IMCU units (SICU, MICU, Miller 3, Miller 4) as needed
- Deliver high-quality critical care to patients with cardiovascular, COPD, DKA, stroke, and sepsis conditions
- Care for post-surgical, trauma, and neurosurgical patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced teaching hospital
- Work 2 out of 4 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions
