Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43201 (Ohio healthcare jobs)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Ohio RN license preferred for local candidates)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a Med/Surg unit (2 years highly desired)
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Experience in travel nursing or healthcare contract roles a plus

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for each patient
• Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and maintaining a safe environment
• Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation programs
• Initiate discharge planning and patient/family education from the day of admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Support team building and a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration
• Engage in ongoing professional development and seek opportunities for growth
