Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14626 (New York healthcare job)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
• Setting: GI Overflow Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
• Shift: Night shifts, 4x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Float: Yes, candidates will float as needed
• Scrubs: Navy blue/white

Med/Surg Tele RN Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand before start date)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skills in IV placement, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team, peripheral line care, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Travel nurses must reside at least 75 miles from the facility

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response/code situations
• Perform IV placement, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway support
• Implement isolation precautions and follow infection control protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation services
• Float to other units as required based on patient census and hospital needs
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR system
