ER RN Job Details
- Location: Albuquerque, NM 87106
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: March 23, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts/week (36 hours/week)
- Healthcare Setting: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, Children's Hospital
- Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: Free on-site
Emergency Room RN Qualifications
- Active NM Registered Nurse license (or eligibility to obtain; pending license accepted at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience (1.5 years with strong Level I Trauma background considered)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC prior to submission), NIHSS (can be pending at compliance deadline)
- Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travel nurses with Level I Trauma experience considered
- Must reside at least 75 miles from facility (no local candidates)
- COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
- Ability to float to Adult PCUs and ED Holding as needed
ER RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ER setting
- Perform triage, trauma/resuscitation, and manage acute medical and surgical emergencies
- Administer medications (including IV), manage central and arterial lines, and care for ventilated patients
- Accurately document and communicate clinical findings
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services)
- Float to Adult PCUs, ED Holding, and Trauma areas as required
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including barcode medication scanning and infection control
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
