ER RN Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87106
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts/week (36 hours/week)
• Healthcare Setting: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, Children's Hospital
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Charting System: Cerner
• Parking: Free on-site

Emergency Room RN Qualifications

• Active NM Registered Nurse license (or eligibility to obtain; pending license accepted at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience (1.5 years with strong Level I Trauma background considered)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC prior to submission), NIHSS (can be pending at compliance deadline)
• Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travel nurses with Level I Trauma experience considered
• Must reside at least 75 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Ability to float to Adult PCUs and ED Holding as needed

ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ER setting
• Perform triage, trauma/resuscitation, and manage acute medical and surgical emergencies
• Administer medications (including IV), manage central and arterial lines, and care for ventilated patients
• Accurately document and communicate clinical findings
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services)
• Float to Adult PCUs, ED Holding, and Trauma areas as required
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including barcode medication scanning and infection control
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
