Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing – Cardiac Stepdown RN
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown (IMC - 3410)
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• End Date: April 27, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend required; holidays as scheduled
• Floating: Required within cardiac specialty, sister units, and lower acuity areas

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland or Compact State (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in cardiac stepdown, IMC, or similar healthcare setting
• BLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA only); ACLS preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR charting system
• Ability to float within hospital units as needed
• Two satisfactory professional references (one supervisor/manager and one charge RN)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from facility
• First-time travel nurses welcome!

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical needs in a 22-bed stepdown unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry; manage cardiac drips (no titration)
• Administer blood products; manage central lines, chest tubes, and feeding tubes
• Care for post-cardiac surgery, post-cath, and post-MI patients
• Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to sister units and lower acuity areas as needed
• Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning
• Document care accurately using Epic EMR
