Travel Nurse Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel
• Location: Indianapolis, IN (zip 46123) – Indiana nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: MS3B – 26-bed adult medical-surgical unit
• Contract Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: January 14, 2026
• End Date: April 15, 2026
• Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift Schedule: 3x12s or 4x12s; every other weekend required
• Staffing Ratios: 1:5-6
• Floating: Required to other Med/Surg units and Observation Unit
• First Time Travel Nurses: Accepted
• Indiana Residents: Not accepted for this travel RN job

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months (1.5 years) of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license (RN license must be in hand prior to start date)
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Ability to float to other medical-surgical units as needed
• Two supervisor references required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical diagnoses (stroke, CHF, dementia, cellulitis, COPD, psychiatric, withdrawal, end-of-life care, COVID, dialysis, and more)
• Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and provide feeding tube care
• Implement isolation precautions and IV insulin protocols
• Perform phlebotomy and start/maintain IVs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, and social services
• Utilize lift equipment and other special medical equipment as needed
• Float to other Med/Surg and Observation units as required
• Work every other weekend and participate in holiday coverage as needed
