Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN

• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (Hematology/Oncology focus)
• Start Date: January 20, 2026
• End Date: April 21, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 4x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:7
• Charting System: Epic (Epic charting experience required)
• Scrub Colors: Navy and white

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York RN license in hand (required for NY healthcare jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Oncology nursing experience required
• Chemo certification required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float to Med/Surg units as needed
• Must reside more than 75 miles from Rochester, NY (local candidates not accepted)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 36-bed hematology/oncology unit
• Provide care for patients post-PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post-MI, and those receiving cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Administer chemotherapy and manage side effects
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Manage ports, central lines, and PICC lines
• Implement neutropenic and isolation precautions
• Educate and support patients and families throughout oncology treatment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Participate in cross-training for bone marrow transplant and MICU care
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
