CVOR RN Job Details

• Location: Belleville, IL (62226) – Greater St. Louis area
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (option to extend)
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts/week (06:45 – 17:15)
• Hours per Week: 40 (guaranteed)
• On-Call: Required (weeknights and weekends per schedule)
• Setting: Acute Care Hospital, Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Parking: Free onsite

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN experience in a hospital setting
• Active Illinois RN license (required at time of application)
• BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Proven experience independently first scrubbing cardiac/open heart procedures
• Ability to function in both scrub and circulator roles highly preferred
• Experience with endovascular/hybrid, neuro-spine, ENT, ortho, and robotic specialties a plus
• EPIC charting experience required
• Willingness to float between Belleville and Shiloh campuses
• Ability to participate in scheduled on-call rotation

CVOR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver expert nursing care in the CVOR, including first scrubbing and circulating for open heart and cardiovascular surgeries
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment, including DaVinci robot
• Float to other surgical service lines as needed (general, vascular, thoracic, pulmonary, ortho, ENT, robotics, etc.)
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergent cases promptly
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR system
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
