Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Pocatello, Idaho (83201) – Idaho healthcare jobs
Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
Unit: Medical/Surgical Floor 4A
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026, End: 4/20/2026)
Orientation: 24 hours onsite
Weekend Coverage: Required (2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible scheduling)
Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
Daily Census: 44 patients, 48-bed unit

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing school
Active RN license in Idaho
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience
Epic EMR charting experience preferred
Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (100-mile radius rule)
Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and clinical protocols
Respond to life-threatening situations quickly and effectively
Prioritize, delegate, and evaluate patient care while communicating with healthcare providers and team members
Accurately document patient care and maintain clinical records
Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain clinical competencies
Care for patients with diverse diagnoses: sepsis, respiratory failure, trauma, post-operative care, and more
Utilize and manage medical equipment: central lines, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tubes, wound vacs
Float to other hospital units as needed, based on competencies
