Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Pocatello, Idaho (83201) – Idaho healthcare jobs
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
- Unit: Medical/Surgical Floor 4A
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026, End: 4/20/2026)
- Orientation: 24 hours onsite
- Weekend Coverage: Required (2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible scheduling)
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Daily Census: 44 patients, 48-bed unit
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Active RN license in Idaho
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Epic EMR charting experience preferred
- Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (100-mile radius rule)
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and clinical protocols
- Respond to life-threatening situations quickly and effectively
- Prioritize, delegate, and evaluate patient care while communicating with healthcare providers and team members
- Accurately document patient care and maintain clinical records
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain clinical competencies
- Care for patients with diverse diagnoses: sepsis, respiratory failure, trauma, post-operative care, and more
- Utilize and manage medical equipment: central lines, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tubes, wound vacs
- Float to other hospital units as needed, based on competencies
