• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 5x8-Hour Days (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: As needed, 30-minute callback
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Unit Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) in a general surgical setting
• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (must be in hand by start date)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
• Proficiency in procedures including Colonoscopy, EGD, Laparoscopic-assisted cases, Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair, Hysterectomy, C-sections, Dilation & Curettage, Cataract extraction/implant, Orthopedic surgeries, and more
• Strong infection control and specimen handling skills
• Ability to start peripheral IVs and monitor conscious sedation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

OR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients of all ages (adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics)
• Assist with a variety of surgical procedures: general, orthopedic, gynecological, ophthalmic, and urological surgeries
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and postoperatively (PACU/recovery)
• Administer blood products and medications as needed
• Maintain infection control, radiation safety, and proper specimen labeling/handling
• Operate specialized equipment: Stryker orthopedic equipment, Olympus lap equipment, Fugi endoscopy systems
• Participate in universal protocol (time out) procedures and ensure accurate documentation
• Respond to on-call needs with a 30-minute callback requirement
