Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (Michigan nursing jobs)
- Unit: 3N Cardiovascular Unit (54 beds)
- Setting: Cardiac Telemetry (Telemetry RN jobs)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: January 19, 2026
- Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
- Charting: Cerner Powerchart (EMR experience preferred)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or Cardiac nursing experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending accepted if obtained prior to start)
- Experience with Cerner or EPIC charting systems preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Ability to float to similar units or affiliate hospitals as needed
- Completion of up to 8 hours of pre-start modules required
Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac diagnoses: heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke, arrhythmias, chest pain
- Monitor patients on cardiac telemetry and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
- Interpret dysrhythmias and respond to rapid response/code situations
- Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and provide wound care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
- Float to similar cardiac units as needed based on census and staffing
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner Powerchart
- Maintain professional conduct and adhere to hospital policies
