Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (Michigan nursing jobs)
• Unit: 3N Cardiovascular Unit (54 beds)
• Setting: Cardiac Telemetry (Telemetry RN jobs)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Charting: Cerner Powerchart (EMR experience preferred)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or Cardiac nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending accepted if obtained prior to start)
• Experience with Cerner or EPIC charting systems preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Ability to float to similar units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Completion of up to 8 hours of pre-start modules required

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac diagnoses: heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke, arrhythmias, chest pain
• Monitor patients on cardiac telemetry and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
• Interpret dysrhythmias and respond to rapid response/code situations
• Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and provide wound care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to similar cardiac units as needed based on census and staffing
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner Powerchart
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to hospital policies
