Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Glen Burnie, Maryland (21061) – Maryland nursing jobs
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (5 South)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• End Date: March 23, 2026
• Duration: 8-week travel nursing assignment
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (08:00 - 20:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours)
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Floating: Required within specialty, sister units, and lower acuity units
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Unit Size: 42 beds, daily census 40-42
• Orientation: 24 hours of paid orientation

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Active RN license in Maryland or Compact State (Maryland nursing license)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA only), CPI, and NIHSS
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Ability to float to similar and lower acuity units as needed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Two professional references from recent employers (one supervisor/manager and one charge RN)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac drips (no titration), and respond to rapid response/code teams
• Perform clinical skills including central line and PICC management, wound care, phlebotomy, and post-surgical care
• Administer medications, blood products, and operate patient care equipment (CPAP/BiPAP, chest tubes, feeding tubes)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services)
• Float to sister units and lower acuity units as required
• Accurately document all care and interventions using Epic EMR
• Complete unit orientation and required modules prior to start
