Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Medical/Surgical specialty (required for healthcare jobs in Iowa)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Medical/Surgical unit
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts on weekends
• Compliance with onboarding requirements: background check, drug screen, health screenings, and competency testing

Medical/Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and post-discharge instructions
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with hospital policies
