Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Leonardtown, Maryland 20650 (Southern Maryland healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care (IMC)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• End Date: April 27, 2026
• Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required (schedule directed by unit needs)
• Float: Required to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing jobs
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Previous charge nurse experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing patient ratios of 4-6:1
• Ability to float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
• Two supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• First-time travel nurses welcome

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to adults in the Cardiac Stepdown/IMC unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to changes in patient condition
• Manage central lines, chest tubes, PCA infusions, and non-titratable cardiac drips
• Provide care for patients with CHF, diabetes, COPD/asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD/dialysis, hypertension/hypotension, ETOH withdrawal, and post-surgical needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies and procedures
• Participate in bedside monitoring, IV infusions, and use specialized equipment (ultrasound IV, cardiac monitoring, lift equipment)
