Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

• Healthcare Setting: On-Site, Medical-Surgical Unit
• Shift: Night Shift – 12-hour shifts, 3x12 per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 12, 2026

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
• BLS Certification (required before first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
• At least 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience (2 years preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely manner
• Participate in patient rehabilitation and discharge planning from admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure safety and continuity of care
• Supervise and guide Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff
• Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital safety protocols and policies
• Contribute to a positive team environment and participate in unit team-building activities
• Maintain professional growth through continuing education and self-study
