• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (06:00 - 18:30), 4 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Patient Population: Adult patients
• Unit Size: 16 beds
• Support Services: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at submission)
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems
• Previous charge nurse or community hospital experience preferred
• Ability to float to similar nursing units as needed
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply
• Willingness to work every other weekend
• Experience managing a patient care ratio of 1:6

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and vital signs
• Administer medications and manage intravenous lines
• Perform wound care, surgical drain management, and colostomy care
• Care for post-surgical, cardiac, and neurological patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Accurately document patient care in electronic health records
• Participate in rapid response and code teams
• Float to similar units as required by facility needs
