Telemetry RN Job Details
- Location: Kalamazoo, MI (ZIP 49048) – Michigan healthcare jobs
- Unit: 3N Cardiovascular Unit – Cardiac Telemetry (54 beds)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/26/2026 – End: 4/27/2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30), 36 hours/week
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; must work 2 out of 3 holidays
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
- Charting: Cerner Powerchart and EPIC (healthcare EMR experience)
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5-6; may be up to 1:7 during call-ins
Telemetry RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state license can be pending)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or Cardiovascular RN experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending certifications accepted)
- Experience with Cerner and EPIC charting systems required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to float to similar units or affiliate hospitals as needed
- Strong professional conduct and reliability
Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke, arrhythmias, and chest pain
- Monitor patients using cardiac telemetry and remote monitoring systems
- Administer cardiac drips and vasoactive medications (no titration required)
- Perform blood product administration, central line care, IV starts, and manage dysrhythmias
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
- Float to similar units or affiliate hospitals as required
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner Powerchart and EPIC
- Uphold high standards of patient safety and professional nursing practice
- Manage patient assignments with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6, and up to 1:7 during call-ins
