• Weekend Coverage: 6 shifts per 6-week period
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Unit Size: 12 rooms, 16 beds
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Float: Required to units of equal or lesser acuity

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association)
• Epic charting experience required
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Must not reside in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris counties

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide expert care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical ICU
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 for optimal care
• Float to other units as needed
• Document patient care using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Rapid Response)
• Assist with advanced ICU procedures: arterial line management, ventilator management, chest tube insertion/removal, central line care
• Administer blood products, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Participate in scheduled weekend coverage
• Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
